How will YOU define 2021?
Goal: Discuss the theme year idea vs. goals
A few years ago I used to do an awesome thing. At the end of the year, I would think about a theme for next year.
One year it was a year of app and I published an app that year.
Another year it was a year of the book and I published a book.
For every year I would come up with a theme that would provide an overall direction for the year.
How’s that different than a goal?
I could have building an app as a goal but a theme Year of the APP means more to me that I not only build app(s) but also think, live and breathe the ideas behind the apps.
So what is my theme for this year?
As you have noticed in the last couple of months I have been writing daily articles during the week. Easily the year could be about writing. It could culminate with a book from those articles.
Couple of months ago I created a Time Management course. Got lots of interest but no enrollments. Maybe I need to focus on the online transformation course creation model? Year of Course Creation?
Recently I started writing apps. I have written 15+ and still working on the craft to develop apps that could be sold. The year could just as easily be themed The Year of the APPS and it would be accurate.
Last week or so I started posting t-shirt designs with the slogan Be Adaptive. It could be the year of T-Shirt Design.
What do these have in common?
These endeavors all have creativity embedded in them. It is different aspects of my interests and creative expression of them. Easily each one of them could be the theme BUT the common thread is creative execution. I want to imagine, create, and execute products.
My 2021 theme is The Year of 52 Creative Products…
I want to get in the habit of executing a product for sale each week. Some will be fairly easy but most will require working my tail off to get it done by Monday morning.
The idea of producing 52 products this year is exciting. It is like having 52 children in one year. After the birth, they all need nurturing. That is marketing. I will present them daily for that week and hopefully they will resonate with, pull you enough to satisfy a need and for you to become a customer.
