I recently started publishing what I would label medium content books. What?

Well on Amazon you can sell planners or journals which are mostly blank pages. These are useful to be able to capture your plans or thoughts.

I have my unique way of managing projects and recently decided to put my knowledge and method down on paper. I figured this would be a good book to have for myself.

As a lot of entrepreneurs would say, “I had a built-in customer base of one” I, therefore, created the book just for me.

BUT that would have been mostly blank like the other vanilla planners and journals. AND I wanted to do more.

Putting boxes down that the person could fill out would make it convenient BUT providing a bit of guidance in the system would be beneficial. So it will give direction.

BUT direction is a dry book like the PMBok. It is a book of knowledge BUT it does not instruct you how to use that knowledge. I wanted to help the project manager by explaining the flow one should follow to be successful.

So the book provides an explanation of what specifically a PM needs to do, which phase they need to do it in, and the order they need to do it in. That by itself makes it unique.

BUT I wanted more so I added on to the PMI’s knowledge areas that are missing. My audience is project managers and typically they are executing projects in an industrial setting. These require them to think about construction, safety, and the environment. PMBox provides no guidance on these areas BUT if a project manager tries to execute a project in an industrial setting and without plans in those areas, you will be told NO..NO…HELL NO!!!

What if you are not in an industrial setting? Skip those BUT I would argue that safety in an office complex is still important. How you discard materials should also be considered? How about the construction group that will execute the work for you? Maybe you are installing servers BUT someone needs to think through how they will be installed and maybe space modified to accommodate.

Well, I hope you get the ideas. I tried to create a journal that I can give to a project manager working for me and with minimum guidance have them work through the sequence of what and when.

Hopefully, if you are a PM you will order a copy, OR if you are a team lead order a set for your team. They can only take you to the next level. You might be world-class BUT this will take you to galaxy class.
