..if you are curious

It is hard for us as humans not to judge. We judge people, situations and things often pretty quickly and harshly.

BUT…

In life sometimes good things happen. Whether it is luck or not, we should appreciate them for occurring. Savor them.

At times bad things happen. We should consider that what happened is possibly the best of the worst that could have happened. Be thankful that it is not worse.

From these two views of good and bad one can simply conclude that it is your view of what is good and bad that will make it so. Your interpretation and reaction is what can turn a bad into good or good into bad.

If I look at my life and quantify the major events in my life there will be some that are +10(great) and -10(horrible). When I have done this life map exercise I have found that after a -10 level experience often my life has gone through a +10 very quickly.

I find that change from super negative to super positive occurring as very interesting. Is it coincidental? Most likely. Maybe not?

What if you are curious about the good AND bad things? As I talked about in lessons learn column, we tend to evaluate the bad in much deeper level. After all it was bad. BUT we seldom micro analyze the good. We should be curious about both.

Everything that happens is a learning opportunity. As the old saying goes we either get a win or a lesson in each event. Each can make us stronger or tear us down. BUT neither should be wasted.

Why?

The person I am today is because of the good and bad that has occurred to me in my life. I need to realize that those things happened for my benefit. I was meant to experience them. To savor the sweet and sour tastes they they leave behind.

These experiences are not wasted because they create you in the end. I see myself as a slab of marble that with each positive or negative experience shapes that marble.

Repeat.

Why the picture?

The picture of a woman dancing caught my eye. She was not on a stage. It looks like she is in some back yard that has lots of concrete. Why did she choose to dance there? Is she getting ready for a performance or just practicing? Notice that only her toe is touching the ground but her leg is showing rigidness. Why is her head tilted? Is the dress red or orange?

Nothing is wasted if you are curious…

My four cents…
