What dent In The Universe Will You Create Next Weekend?

How BIG was the Dent in The Universe I made This Weekend?

Goal: Discuss taking actions during intense weekend sessions

Last week I wrote an article on What I can Obsess About This Weekend. In it I discussed how we are our own limiting force. We hold ourselves back from actually accomplishing things.

Great article BUT so what?

Writing about a topic forces me to actually evaluate and clarify my beliefs about that topic and hopefully forces action. Notice the hopefully part. I am human after all.

Well this weekend I was superhuman!!!

A few years ago I came up a billion dollar idea. I discussed the idea with a select couple of folks and after that did nothing with it. One should always remember that ideas are dreams that have expiration dates.

This weekend I decided to create a minimum viable product to show the potential of this idea. Saturday I spent the whole day creating an app to do what I envisioned. I apologize for the lack of specifics but I am not ready to share the details with the world.

What is important is that I did it. I created an app that functioned well on the computer in the build environment. BUT I hit a wall when I sent it to my phone. It behaved slightly different. So I have spent the last day trying to climb over that wall with technical support.

What happened during that back and forth with technical support was also very interesting. I pivoted.

In order to keep learning and building, I started to create another app. The app basically replaces a physical menu for a specific restaurant with cool pictures.

It worked!!!!! I shared it with the owner of the restaurant and he said it was good but did not commit to taking a commitment action.

Did I fail?

Well yes and no. I got feedback on the result that I produced. He did not jump up and down and demand that we enter in a contract. It was a redirection and not an outright rejection.

I went back to the drawing board and decided to add a welcome page and a email capture page.

Where is this going?

It is amazing when one just simply focuses on the task and keeps taking actions. The faster the actions the faster you have to respond and faster you learn and hopefully earn.

It is all about the action…baby!!! (I could not resist that)

What I did put a dent in the universe. My universe and hopefully yours. I have created an app that potentially could result in a very profitable business. One that I can build up and eventually hire developers to work for me on future projects. That is how you put a dent in the universe in a weekend.

What dent will you create next weekend?

My two cents….(this is what I earned from Medium.com in October 2020)

I got to go…my future self alarm went off
