What Responsibility Do I Have To Create Great Content?
Goal: discuss what elements go into a great post
I am working on improving my writing. I believe there are two elements that contribute to great writing of posts. First element is the substance and the other is the structure.
In this article I want to discuss structure.
Recently Ahmed Iman shared his five elements about a great post:
- Hook
- Story
- Lesson
- Call to action
- Consequences
The title of my stories typically serves as my hook. I often pose a question that I believe best can hook the audience to continue reading. Check.
Second component is the story. Most often I try to tell a story or recall a story of something that I experienced. Check.
The lesson(s) are often highlighted in bold. Check.
Last two pieces, call to action and consequences, are currently missing. Hum…
I need to print this structure out and paste in on my monitor screen to check before I click the submit button. These two pieces are areas for improvement.
My process is iterative. I currently am OK as a writer BUT I want to get to become a great writer. One that pulls you into a story with a message, shows you the consequences, and inspires you to action.
I am responsible for the message and the quality. It is my goal to create great content for you to be willing to invest your time to read my daily articles.
I am grateful that you keep coming back to read my stories. I can never say enough THANKS to my supporters. I can only work to become better and more useful to you. You have many choices of what you give your time.
THANKS for your support on my journey to create great content.
My two cents….(this is what I earned from Medium.com in October 2020)
I got to go…my future self alarm went off
